It's here...

Snow that is..We had a couple of days of on/off snow and more to come in the forecast. The kids finally had a enough to go sledding down our hill in the backyard. So, we pulled out the snow gear and enjoyed ourselves. It makes me a little sad that the snow is already here and if it is anything like last year we get to look at a white lawn for the next 5 months. I guess we should be thankful that we get snow and all the moisture it brings to the communities.

Ashlynn's School Trip

 

Ashlynn had her first class field trip. They went to the Discovery Gateway Museum in SLC. Her class that consists of all girls (its a dance school) completely enjoyed themselves. Their class had to wear the purple vests so if anyone got lost the museum would know which group they belonged to. I thought that was very creative. She got to play house, shop at the market, drive a car and visit a farm. She also enjoyed the lifeflight helicopter, it was a little noisy so there are pictures of them covering their ears. It was so fun to watch her interact with the girls in her class. Ashlynn is very social and is always looking for friends to play with her.

Our Halloween Excitement...

We didn't think this day would ever come. We have done so much this past month. It has felt like halloween was every other day. So, when the day did come the fun kept on going. The day before Halloween Carter had his school carnival. We played some games and Carter even won a 2 liter bottle of Sprite. The highlight for Ashlynn at the carnival was getting her nails painted.

On Halloween we started out on Main Street in Bountiful. Every year the businesses give out treats/prizes. Its a fun way to get to know the local stores. Then, we proceeded to the Trunk-a-Treat at the Church. That is always fun to see some decked out cars and costumes. Finally, we ventured out into the neighborhood. The kids had a blast. Our neighbor also has a scary witch act that she does every year. The kids are yet to knock on her door. We hear her cackling all night. She does a great job.

As you can tell in all the costume pictures throughout the month Carter has been something different. He just could not make up his mind. He finally decided that he wanted to be a dead pirate. I was so shocked that he wanted to put on make-up. If you know Carter he has a thing about textures and smells.

All in all we had a great month.

Spooktacular

Ashlynn had her 2 minutes of fame this weekend. Her dance class performed at the Davis County Spooktacular. They were little witches and danced to the song "Witches Brew". While we were waiting for her time to go on stage we enjoyed some time at the carnival that was taking place during the dance performances. The kids got play little games and they even got to go on a canoe ride. Then Ashlynn had to change out of her princess attire and become a witch for her performance. She was not happy about that, but the show did go on. Ashlynn seemed to enjoy herself.

Last Lagoon Hurrah!

We had our last trip to Lagoon this season. It was so fun having season passes and going we had a few hours to spare. It was nice that we didn't feel like we had to spend all day there in order to get our monies worth. We will definitely get passes next year to continue the fun! Next year Carter will be able to go on most of the big adult rides. He is excited to ride them, he just has to grow 1.5 inches. Carter and Ashlynn's favorite rides this year were the 'Tidal Wave' and the 'Tilt a Wheel', yes I know the "hurl a wheel". They loved to spin around until we just couldn't laugh any more. Matt and I even got to go without the kids and ride the big rides. I have to say that the Wicked ride is a very intense and fun ride! The Spider and the Colasses Roller Coaster were also up there for fun thrill rides. Until next year... Ashlynn on the Carousel.

This was also the kids favorite ride. It abruptly springs up and down. It was a fun ride to do. The kids would laugh the whole time. Oh, good times!

Black Island Pumpkin Patch

We ventured out to a local pumpkin patch this weekend with a friend from work and her family. The weather was great and we had a fun time with all the activities they had. They even had a little area with animals and games for the kids to play. I loved the little duck races and the huge slides. We even got lost in the ginormous corn maze. The kids had fun at first, but they were getting very worried that we would not be able to get out. It was definitely a challenge to get out. We had the kids convinced that we were going to be eating corn for dinner. Even I was glad to get out! We had a great time!
