End of Season Party

Party Time...for our end of the season party we played a parents vs kids game.  We had pizza and root beer floats.

Matt is arguing that he is safe on third base..He did do a lot of arguing with the officials this year.  We had some bad calls made against our team.

Matt made a golden bat and ball for his assistant coaches.  We had all the players sign them.  They turned out very neat!  Thanks coach Dustin and Brad for your time! Brad wasn't able to attend the party because he and his wife had their cute new baby boy that morning. 

Matt also made each player a Certificate of Awesomeness and the players were given trophies with skittles.

 This is probably the last season they will play together on the same team.  So sad! 

Now we are getting ready for the all-star games that take place this week. 

Lagoon season is here...

Summer has finally began...and we finally made it to Lagoon!

We met up with some friends.  This is Gage, Cooper and Carter getting ready to spin in this super fast merry go around.  (Be prepared to be squished!)

Carter and his friends on the Jet Star.  I am not a fan of this ride because of the jerky turns it makes, but the kids could ride this over and over.  Even though somtimes their heads get caught in the railings.  Crazy kids!

Ashlynn is finally tall enough to ride the tallest ride in the park...The Rocket!  She has been waiting to ride it for 2 years now.  The day has finally come...she hopped right in line and was so excited to be brought to the top of this ride and dropped down to the bottom. 

I love this ride!  It is so fun!

Ashlynn is the blue shirt looking down as the ride took her to the top.  She is with Kristy and Gage while I was taking pictures.  Ashlynn loved it so much that she wanted to ride again and again.  I love her willingness to try new things.

As we were wondering through the old houses in Pioneer Village we found a peacock sitting on eggs in one of the carriages.  We let one of the housekeepers know and she said they knew about it and that there were 2 other peacocks in the park that had nests as well.  We were able to find 2 of them.  So fun!

Carter was able to get a picture with the peacock.  We love to spend time at Lagoon and get great uses out of our season passes.  Can't wait to go back!

Tumble Performance 2013

Carter and Ashlynn had their end of season Tumbling performance.  They both did great showing off their neat moves they learned over the past year.  Carter mastered a back hand spring and a front tuck and dive rolls.  Ashlynn has perfected her cartwheels, back bends and dive rolls as well.
I am especially proud of Carter because the other boys in his class did not want to do the performance in front of people.  So, the studio director's brother that is 14 tumbled with him on stage so that he wouldn't be alone.  It was a fun routine to watch!

Aunt Gail and Tracy also came to watch.  We love living so close to family, so we can share special moments with them.

Carter refused a picture so this is the best one I got of him..It is funny how he is standing just like his dad.

Lincoln Olympics 2013

Let the games begin...I love that the kid's school organize this event every year.  They start out by bringing in the flags around the world and place them around the track.

They compete with their classes at all the Olympics events.

Father's Day 2013

This is our amazing father is our household!  I am so grateful for all he does for our little family. He can always bring laughter in our house even in the most stressful situations.
 

It was time to replace our old grill that was barely working with this nifty one.

Matt picked it out and had it delivered just in time for Father's Day so we could enjoy a yummy meal from the new grill.

Visitors from Idaho...

My Dad (Grandpa Rod, Corey and Debbie) came to Utah for a visit.  They were able to see one of Carter's Baseball games, attended a Bee's Baseball game that had a awesome firework show after the game.  And then we saw the movie Epic.  The movie theater had a neat water color show in their fountains.  We enjoyed their visit!

Our team this year opted to do our own baseball pictures rather than the cities choice of photographer.  One of our player's grandpa is always taking professional photos of his grandson and we asked him to take some action shots of the other boys to make our own collages.  Thanks to the other coach (Dustin) for making the collages.  They turned out so good!  I love all these shots of Carter especially the one of him sliding into home plate.
 

Our regular season ended on Saturday, but we are preparing for a party this week to celebrate everyone's accomplishments this year.  We are also getting excited for the 4th of July All-Star game.

 

Somebody turned 36...

Matt's birthday was the last of our celebratory weeks.  We have had so many parties and gatherings for several occasions at our house the past 3 weeks, but who is complaining I love to have gatherings.  It is even sweeter when it is with family and friends that we enjoy to be with!

The kids and I headed down to Salt Lake to have lunch with Matt and tour his new office space.  We brought him some yummy coconut cupcakes and a balloon to make him feel special on his day.

Carter's team had a baseball game the night of Matt's birthday.  It was such a great game! We came out with a win and it was won in the last inning with an amazing hit by a player that normally is not a hitter. So it brought in a run into home plate and we won the game.  Carter played awesome like always.  I loved that in the last inning our bench was chanting cheers and were so excited to come up with the win.  After the game as the team was huddling, the team sang happy birthday to Coach Matt and put a candy lei on him.

Then, the Dalton's, the Montgomery's and Matt's parents came over to celebrate with Matt's favorite cake (German Chocolate) and ice cream. 

It was a special day for him to be able to celebrate with his parents.
