What's Ashlynn been up to?

Well...Her class had their end of the year field trip to the Zoo. This was our group of girls. We had to best group! A little bit chilly, but we survived. The best part about school field trips has got to be the sack lunch. On every field I have been on that is the highlight, it is the first thing the kids ask is "When is lunch?" Aren't these the cutest girls!
Next up...Ashlynn finished up t-ball this week. She got the hang of it and was hitting the ball without the tee. What a fun time we had! Although, we suffered through rain, wind and snow.

I think there was only one game that we didn't have to wear a coat. Fun times!

Lastly, Ashlynn finished preschool. I am truly going to miss this school. It has been just a fun experience for her. She had the best teacher this year! We just love Ms. Ashley! She is great with kids and all the kids just adore her. We got to listen to them sing and then Ms. Ashley spotlighted each child. She said Ashlynn is the most social and everybody wants to be around her. Her teacher said she isn't quite sure if Ashlynn is listening and understanding the directions given because she is constantly socializing and doing funny things to make the class laugh, but Ashlynn always has her work done perfectly. I am not sure I am liking this attribute of her, but at least she is having fun. Right?

They finished their graduation party with treats and making t-shrits with all their class hand prints on them. So cute!! So, on to Kindergarten we go. Ashlynn is so ready to take that adventure!

A Visit From Boise...

We were so glad that Tom and Frankie finally made it down to visit us. (We like to think they came to visit us only, but we had to share them with the other Peterson family, just kidding, we love Craig & Gail's family) We have been anticipating their visit for a month now. We had fun visiting with them. Carter was especially excited to have them watch his baseball games. We had a nice brunch on Sunday to send them off back to Boise. What a treat to have Frankie here to be with Matt and Craig on Mother's day! We hope they come back soon!

On a side note...Carter has really enjoyed baseball this year and we have only began the season. He still looks smaller than rest of the players, but he definitely has a strong side to him. When he gets up to bat he has the look and swing of determination to hit the ball and that is just what he does. Matt was disappointed to always see him in the outfield, but we have learned that he has one of the strongest and most accurate throws on the team. He can throw the ball from the outfield to 2nd or 3rd base and hold the runners from getting to home plate. I know that uncle Corey would be proud of him. Go Red Sox!!

T- Ball Time

Ashlynn had her first T-ball game this week. I think she is having fun. She definitely is a funny girl out there! She twirls and dances around the field and when she catches the ball she does a little cheer move.

Easter Excitement

What a weekend! We have had some horrible weather so we ventured to our local Smith's store and participated in an egg and candy hunt in the store. We have never done anything like this, but who can complain, we were warm and the kids still got to find eggs. I love the picture of Ashlynn finding eggs in the bakery section of the store. I think we will always have this memory of the egg hunt in a grocery store. We also had a delicious ham cooked by Matt (while I was taking a nap before work) and had a delightful dinner with Craig and Gail's family. Then I ended the night working at the hospital. After all the holiday excitement we are now on Spring Break and enjoying the snow (Ha Ha, not really!)

Look who's 7...

Carter was all smiles the day of his birthday on April 1st he could hardly control himself.
He is such a special part of our family. He always wants to know what is going on
and is always right by your side. He doesn't let anything slide by without him knowing.

Things about Carter:

Does not like the smell of anything fruity

He teaches us patience
He is very protective of his Sister

Has lots of family that supports and loves him
Asks a lot of questions and asks them again and again
Most importantly he loves to have fun!

Carter has been planning his birthday party at the Bubble for a year now. We had a great time swimming and now Ashlynn says she wants a swim party too. It still amazes us that he is so confident in the water. He definitely is not the cautious Carter we know when it comes to playing in the water. He jumps off the side of the pool and the diving board in the deep end with no worries. I think we might have a little swimmer in the family.

1st Grade Field Trip

Carter had a very exciting week (the week of his birthday). His class had their field trip to the aquarium the day before his birthday. He was also the Star of the Week at school. He felt extra special all week long! It is always an adventure to go along with these class trips. The kids love riding on the big yellow bus and are so full of energy to be with all their classmates. I love it!

Happy April Fool's Day!

Carter is such a lucky kid to have his birthday on April Fool's day.

April 1st was his actual due date to be born and he came to

this earth right on time.

We woke up this morning to snow!

I was just looking out the window at the beginning

of the week thinking it was nice to actually see green grass and

then we are back to seeing white.

No April fool's joke here!

For Carter's April fool's joke this year, I got this great idea

from a co-worker of mine. I packed Carter plastic food for his

lunch and then surprised him with McDonald's and balloons.

His class left for lunch a little earlier so, I missed him

opening up his lunch box. I found him running up to the lunch lady explaining the situation and that he needed school lunch.

I then showed him I brought a kids meal and he looked relieved.

He was more annoyed that all his friends were almost finished with their lunches and ready to go to recess. Carter likes to take home lunch so he can be one the first ones out to recess. He says it takes to0 long to wait in the lunch line. So, he inhaled his kids meal and ran out to recess with out

even saying goodbye to Ashlynn and I.

I guess we just were in the way of his routine.
