Arrow of Light Award

 Carter has officially completed Cub Scouts and now will be participating in 11 year old scouting adventures.  Yahoo! This is going to be so fun for Matt and Carter.  I have also handed over the scouting paton to Matt. I have been to so many cub scouting activities, camps and award ceremonies over the past 3 years..It is now Matt's turn for the fun overnight camps that are in store for the both of them.

Tubing in Midway

We finally were able to use our vouchers we bought on a deal. The weather has been beautiful and we were worried that there wouldn't be enough snow to go.  We were wrong there was plenty of snow and enjoyed an evening of tubing without having to hike up a steep mountain. We enjoyed our time going up the tube rope pull and going down the hills as a group because we could go faster. I can't believe Winter is coming to end but always excited for Spring. I do have a funny suspicion that we haven't seen the last of the snow...   

Valentine Fun..

 Happy Valentine's Day! We ended up having a quiet night at home since our tubing hill adventure was postponed due to pouring rain.

 This was the kids surprise in the morning....

...they always wants these little sugar balls(donut holes) so they were so excited!

 I made the kids a book of all their activities they have participated in their life so far.  I scanned in team photos and other memorabilia things.  They find it fun to see how much they have grown over the years and they also get to see how much they have accomplished. 

Ashlynn was also very excited because she got a box of KitKats because it is her favorite candy that she just discovered a month ago.  She is our little picky eater!

 I saw this cute frog and I just couldn't pass it up..Gave it to my prince charming.

 Ashlynn picked out this super soft dog and gave it to Matt. The dog is constantly being requested by other little arms in the house to cuddle with.  He is so soft and floppy! 

These were my handouts to the ladies I visit teach. I filled the bags with berry donut holes. So fun!

Jazz vs Warriors Game

Carter and Matt attended the Jazz vs Warriors Basketball game at the end of January.  The Golden State Warriors is Carter's favorite team and he couldn't wait for game day to come!

Carter made his own sign and their seats were in the Golden State sections.  Matt had his Jazz hat on and Carter had his Warriors Jersey.

Then they raised up a banner in Jerry's honor.
The Warriors came up with the win.  So, Carter was thrilled!

Jazz Player Appearance

The Jr Jazz organization in our city held a special night for the Jr Jazz Players. The had a special appearance of one of the professional Basketball Jazz players come visit and show off some of his tricks. We got to meet Rudy Gobert #27! If I remember right he is so tall at 7ft 1in, has the biggest wing span in the NBA and is 3inches shy of touching the basketball rim standing flat on his feet.

The boys got to hang out with him on the floor and participate in some competitions with him. This one the boys had to decide if he was going to make certain shots and if you were wrong you had to do push-ups.  Rudy shot some long 3 pointers...I love Carter's face reaction!

As you may of noticed that Carter is wearing a bright yellow Golden State Warriors NBA Jersey not a Jazz Jersey. Carter wanted to support his Warriors not the Jazz that night because the next night he and Matt were going to the Jazz and Warrior's game and wanted to stand out during Rudy's player appearance.  He certainly did because all the boys were in their Jazz jerseys and there is Carter in his Bright Yellow.  What a funny Kid!

Then the boys had to decide if he was going to make a full court shot..hmmm..then Rudy tricked the boys and ran up the court and dunked the ball. There was cheering and screaming after the dunk!

Then all the kids started attacking him and we were sent back to our seats because that was one of the rules was that you couldn't touch the player.

Then it was Q & A time. We found out that he is from France and doesn't speak much English and likes food that I can't pronounce or spell.

Lastly, Rudy showed off more dunks.  It was a fun experience!  Ashlynn even enjoyed herself and said as we were driving home "that was fun!"

It is nice to see these players make visits off the court and share their experiences with us.

Tumbling Girl

This is Ashlynn's 2nd year of Tumbling. She looks forward to going every week and she is getting stronger doing her tumbling drills. She enjoys this sport because she doesn't have any competitions and she doesn't have to be on a team.  It is all her and she is doing very well!

Ice Skating

 

We finally made some time to hit the ice skating rink. 

This one of our family traditions to do this activity at least once a year.

Carter jumped right on the ice and took off and wanted to keep on racing us. He is just a little too fast for Ashlynn.

This picture is funny..Matt caught this right before Ashlynn went down on the ice.  It is funny because she is smiling as she is falling down.  Love this girl!

We enjoyed our time together and brushed up on our yearly ice skating skills.  I remember being so sore after because I would have to hold Ashlynn up the entire time.  Not this year!  She did GREAT!
