Happy Pioneer Day!

We had a great pioneer day! We watched the parade in the 100 degree weather and melted a few layers of skin off, but that is what summer is about in Utah. Then, we watched the fireworks, which were fabulous! There is nothing better than being outside on a summer night with a slight breeze. The next day we spent the morning at the Bountiful Rec. Center for some swimming. We had a lot of fun spending time together as a family and celebrating all that the pioneers did for us.

10 years and still in love...

Matt and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on July 23rd. We had a sitter to watch the kids (thanks Tracy!) and Matt took me out to a Bee's Baseball game. It reminded us when we were first married when we had season tickets to the Boise Hawks baseball games. We had a great time then and we also had a relaxing time at this game. Matt got tickets right behind home plate, they were the perfect seats. Thanks Matt! Matt and I at the Boise Temple in 99, we look like little kids. (oh, wait we still are.)

I finally got Ashlynn's Dance pictures back. I thought they turned out so cute, so I decided to share them with all of you. Their costumes were so fun! Her "Big Girl" costume with the ginormous wig.

Firework fun

This year for the 4th of July we had a BBQ, played badminton and enjoyed watching fireworks.

Aunt Tracy brought these light sticks, the kids had fun putting them together.

This is how Ashlynn responded to the fireworks. She does not like the ones that whistle. She likes the fireworks that go up in the air.

We ate homeade ice cream made by Craig and Gail and enjoyed our little firework show on our street. It was a fun night and I hope all of you had a great 4th as well!

The Boys at 40 Pines

The boys had their annual Father's day trip to the cabin. Carter and Matt left the girls behind to have some boy fun. Carter was so excited to go this year, he loves it there. He had a hard time going to sleep the night before knowing that they were leaving in the morning. Matt thought well maybe he would take a nap on the ride up to the cabin. Oh no, he was still talking about how excited he was to go. The pictures above are mostly of Matt and his brother's guided fishing trip. They had a great time on the river and an experience they will always remember. I am glad they all had a fun time and no major events occurred other than Carter's ankles being swollen from mosquito bites. Ashlynn and I are glad they are home.

Ashlynn's Dance Concert

Ashlynn had her end of the year Dance Concert this week. She worked hard at school and home practicing her dance moves. She had two dances. One of them was called her "Big Girl" dance. She had to wear the big wig, which she was not a fan of because we had to attached the wig with 10 pins to make it stay. Her second dance was a "Pirate" tumbling dance. They were so cute running around the stage with their pirate costumes. Ashlynn had a fun year with her dance school. We are taking a short summer break and then she will back at it when school starts up again. Thanks for all the family and friends that came to support her during all her dance performances.
