We made it!!

Ashlynn and Carter's beds were taken down so we spent our last night in our old house in sleeping bags on the floor. The kids thought it was fun.

Here are the kids being goofy at the new house. We are loving the area that we are in and getting to know all the neighborhood kids very quickly. It surprises me who is coming and going through our house. The weekend we moved in, if we left the door open we had some kid looking around and later a parent looking for their kid. Very different from where we moved from. The kids are loving all the new kids to play with.

Please, no more doctor visits...

On top of moving last week we had a week of doctors visits. Some expected and one that was not. Carter had a eye doctor screening to see if he needed glasses and after waiting 3.5 hours we were told he does not need glasses. He was slightly disappointed because he wanted to be like daddy. Both kids ended the week at the dentist with No Cavities! Wahoo! Let just say we have had a our share of doctor visit waiting times.

Ashlynn had her 5 year check up visit and was not happy about getting her kindergarten shots. Although, she is so excited for school to start she was willing to get the shots.

Poor Carter, he had a bad respiratory reaction to paint fumes and almost landed him at night in the hospital. We had been painting the new house for last week and half and for some reason he had respiratory reaction the last day we painted. He was breathing very rapidly with his tummy, he could not catch his breath. I had him try to rest and lay down thinking it could be an anxiety attack, but then it just wasn't getting better. When I took him in to the doctor his oxygen saturation was 84-86% and the rest of his vitals were ugly. We stayed at the doctor for 4 hours doing breathing treatments, getting him oral steroids, antibiotics and a chest x-ray. They wanted to admit him because his sats were not improving, but instead we were sent home and told to come back and recheck his vitals in 2 hours. When we returned to the doctor his sats and vitals were much improved. So, we were given the option to go home or stay at the hospital for observation. I chose to go home and I did albuterol treatments every 2 hours through the night. Carter is now completely fine its like it never happened.

Happy 33rd Birthday Matt!!

Matt's birthday was yesterday (6/3). After we were split up between Carter's and Ashlynn baseball and tee-ball games, we celebrated his birthday with his traditional BBQ Kabobs dinner. He picked out his birthday pie (coconut cream). It was a perfect night to have a BBQ because we were eating dinner at 8:00pm. Craig and Gail's family joined us for the good food as well. My cute boys!

This picture is to show Ashlynn's necklace that the coach's wife made all the girls. Ashlynn has to wear it everywhere. It is a 'A" scrabble piece with her picture on it.

Ashlynn was so excited to get her first trophy and team pictures at her award ceremony. She has been showing off her trophy to everyone! Oh, the simple things in life. You have got to love kids because they show true emotion and just explain what life is all about in their emotions.

Home Sweet Home!

This is our new home that we bought on Ashlynn's birthday last week. It is such a cute and cozy home. The house is 9 years old, the sellers built it and added a lot of extras throughout the home and then they moved to Boise. (kind of ironic that we are from Boise). It is a multi-level home with 5 bedrooms and a study located in a culdasac. We feel truly blessed to have found home that we all like and feel really good about. From the very beginning the house felt like our home, it was just meant to be! We are now in the middle of cleaning, painting and packing. We should be all moved in by next weekend.

"I am a full hand now!"

Ashlynn is officially five and she told us that she is now a full hand now! (Not sure where she came up with that saying) She has been waiting so long for her birthday. She could hardly wait for the day to come. We had a full day of activities and things to do on her day, but as far as she knows the whole day was hers. We started the day by getting her 'happy birthday' song from her grandpa Tom and then we took her out to breakfast and then we signed papers for our new house (details in another later post).

Then it was off to her girl glamour party. Ashlynn wanted to have a makeover party and I just am not creative enough to pull it off. So, I found a beauty school that solved the problem. They painted the girls toe and finger nails and did a stylish up do. These girls had a blast sitting in the salon chairs. It was the cutest thing watching them talk to the stylist and each other. After the girls were all glamoured up we went out for ice cream and opened presents from her friends.

Next up we had pizza, cake and more ice cream with family and neighborhood friends at home. Then we ended the day watching Carter's baseball game. Which turned out to be pleasant evening, no wind, rain or snow to deal with. What a day, but definitely a good day!

We just love this girl and are so thankful that she is part of our family. I am going to miss her around the house when she has to go to school everyday. She makes me laugh and is my biggest helper and makes sure we stay on schedule of things we have to do that day. She is such a big girl now!

What's Ashlynn been up to?

Well...Her class had their end of the year field trip to the Zoo. This was our group of girls. We had to best group! A little bit chilly, but we survived. The best part about school field trips has got to be the sack lunch. On every field I have been on that is the highlight, it is the first thing the kids ask is "When is lunch?" Aren't these the cutest girls!
Next up...Ashlynn finished up t-ball this week. She got the hang of it and was hitting the ball without the tee. What a fun time we had! Although, we suffered through rain, wind and snow.

I think there was only one game that we didn't have to wear a coat. Fun times!

Lastly, Ashlynn finished preschool. I am truly going to miss this school. It has been just a fun experience for her. She had the best teacher this year! We just love Ms. Ashley! She is great with kids and all the kids just adore her. We got to listen to them sing and then Ms. Ashley spotlighted each child. She said Ashlynn is the most social and everybody wants to be around her. Her teacher said she isn't quite sure if Ashlynn is listening and understanding the directions given because she is constantly socializing and doing funny things to make the class laugh, but Ashlynn always has her work done perfectly. I am not sure I am liking this attribute of her, but at least she is having fun. Right?

They finished their graduation party with treats and making t-shrits with all their class hand prints on them. So cute!! So, on to Kindergarten we go. Ashlynn is so ready to take that adventure!

A Visit From Boise...

We were so glad that Tom and Frankie finally made it down to visit us. (We like to think they came to visit us only, but we had to share them with the other Peterson family, just kidding, we love Craig & Gail's family) We have been anticipating their visit for a month now. We had fun visiting with them. Carter was especially excited to have them watch his baseball games. We had a nice brunch on Sunday to send them off back to Boise. What a treat to have Frankie here to be with Matt and Craig on Mother's day! We hope they come back soon!

On a side note...Carter has really enjoyed baseball this year and we have only began the season. He still looks smaller than rest of the players, but he definitely has a strong side to him. When he gets up to bat he has the look and swing of determination to hit the ball and that is just what he does. Matt was disappointed to always see him in the outfield, but we have learned that he has one of the strongest and most accurate throws on the team. He can throw the ball from the outfield to 2nd or 3rd base and hold the runners from getting to home plate. I know that uncle Corey would be proud of him. Go Red Sox!!
