Funny Girl!

We spent an afternoon in Bountiful at Brooke's baptism.  Ashlynn was so excited to see her friend that we moved away from 2 years ago.  She has had a few play dates with Brooke, but not enough according to Ashlynn.  On our way home we stopped for icee's.  They were so delish!

You just got to love this girl!  She keeps you smiling everyday!

Door Project

Matt and I have been contemplating on whether to get a storm door for the front.  We had one at our first house in Boise and loved it.  So, we finally convinced ourselves to go ahead with it.  We picked out a full view door that the screen can be changed out in the winter with a nice etched glass.  We have the screen in now and love it!  We have full view of our culdasac when the kids are out playing around and the best part is that we get air circulating through the main level of the house.  Handy Matt installed it himself during a toasty Saturday afternoon, but he did a great job. 

Hatching chicks

Carter's class had chicken eggs in a incubator to observe a for science learning experiment.  The school connected a web cam so that you could view them at home and other classes had them projected in their classrooms as well.   Technology is amazing!!  The eggs hatched at night so we took pictures of the little chicks coming out of their eggs off the school web cam website.

It is hard work for these little chicks to come out of their eggs.  Some of the chicks would get their eggs stuck to their back ends and walk around with their eggs still attached until they had enough energy to kick it off.  It was so fun and interesting to watch.

The baby chicks would come out wet looking and then would fluff up later.  Then they would walk around and bump the other eggs.  It was funny!

Then, we woke up early and saw that the other chicks were out of their eggs.  The kids were excited to get to school and hold the new baby chicks.  There was one egg left and the whole school got to watch it hatch in their classrooms.  I even recorded it at home just in case the kids didn't get to watch it, but it was old news by the time the kids got out of school.  What a neat experience for the school! 

Easter Morning

Look at these adorable kids!  I had to pose them by my favorite tree in our front yard.  This tree is so beautiful in the Spring with its flowering limbs.  Then, in a few days a big wind and rain storm is going to come along and knock all the flowers down and spread them all over the yard.  Oh well, at least I captured it with these cute kids.

Egg Dive

This is the only Easter egg hunt the kids wanted to do this year.  The kids ended up with some neat prizes and the best part was that they could swim after the egg hunt.

Baby Animals Days

During our short Spring break of 2 days, we spent a day at Baby Animals Days in Wellsville.  A few friends of mine got together, packed our lunches and carpooled the hour drive to the farm.  This place turned out to be so fun, the kids kept on saying that they want to come back next year and do it again.  This farm had so many animals to hold and pet that the kids couldn't get enough.  We ended up staying there all day until it closed and the best part was that they kept the place open for an additional hour so the kids took full advantage of the extra time holding more animals.

Ashlynn loved the bunnies! She named hers marshmallow and she was very sad when she had to say good-bye to her new friend. 

The only animals we could not pet and only look at was the baby bears.  They were sure cute to look at.

I was surprised how well the animals did with all those kids chasing and wanting to hold all of them.  The animals would actually come to you and want to be held.  The kid just loved it!

Carter had a fun time riding the mechanical bull.  He never got bucked off because he jumped off before it was over.  Silly kid!  It was funny when one of the goats was trying to bite Carter's jacket and it did take a bite of my friends paper bag.  The workers said they like to eat paper.
