Missing Teeth

Carter lost 2 teeth this week and he is so happy to have them both out. We wiggled the first one out with no problem and then the other tooth decided it wanted to come out on its own early in the morning. Carter woke up screaming "my tooth fell out and it's in my mouth." I am glad he didn't swallow it as he was screaming and running to the bathroom. He has two more that are loose on the top. It seems that he is loosing them all at once and he says it is hard to eat with all his wiggling teeth. We love looking at his new smile. Oh, the joys of being 6!

We love you Grandpa...

This past week we traveled to Idaho to attend my dear Grandpa's funeral. What a great man he was! He will always be a inspiration to me with all his accomplishments. During his life here on earth he was a man of courage, strength and good wisdom.
It was also nice to catch up with all my relatives. It has been a very long time since all of us have been able to get together (some of them 10 years or so). I haven't seen some of my cousins since they were little tiny kids-how time flies when your growing up. I know that Grandpa enjoyed looking over all of us while we were reacquainting with each other. There was such a peaceful and comforting spirit during the services. Till we meet again Grandpa. We love you!

Evening Activity..Shoveling Snow?

A few weeks ago we got a good snow storm that we ended up shoveling the driveway and walks 3 times in one day. I took my turn and shoveled in the morning, afternoon and Matt shoveled after work. Matt has also been shoveling at the Church after each snow fall. If you look at the positive we are definitely getting good exercise in. The kids also love to help out with their little shovels and join in on the snow shoveling fun.

Celebrating 2009!

We celebrated 2009 by heading down to Salt Lake City to join in on the activities. Instead we found ourselves not wanting to stand in the cold so we checked to see if there were any movies playing we could see. So we ended up watching "Princess and the Frog" which was a very cute show and a very good plan for the night.

After the movie we headed home about 9:30pm and Carter wanted to stay up until midnight to see the fireworks on TV and Ashlynn just sighed and said she wanted to go to bed. As we were driving home she fell asleep and wanted to get in her bed. So that left Carter, Matt and I passing the time by playing our new Wii game "Sports Resort" (which by the way is the best Wii game I have found so far, thanks Mom for Christmas money!) We played until the fireworks sounded and then Carter was satisfied and could go to bed.

Christmas Day...

So the day we have all been preparing for came and gone. What a great time of year! We woke up early and saw the exciting things Santa brought. We had Christmas dinner at our house and Matt fried his famous turkey. It was delish as always! Until next year...

Christmas Eve

We had a great time celebrating Christmas and all that comes with it. We started by making cookies and then opened presents from the Idaho Grandparents and our Christmas Pj's. I was scheduled to work on Christmas Eve so we started things a little early before I had to leave for work. It turned out that I was put on call at the beginning of my shift so I got to join in on the festivities at Craig and Gail's house. So, we spent the rest of the evening at Gail's and enjoyed a yummy meal of Fondue. Then we ended the night singing Christmas songs.

Temple Square

This is a family tradition of ours to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square.
Even when we lived in Boise we would make a trip to Utah to see the lights. They definitely put you in the Christmas spirit. You just have to forget that your are freezing and enjoy the delightful views.
