Warmer weather is finally here!

Warmer weather has made it presence in Utah. Not sure how long it is going to last, but we will enjoy it while we can. Carter started soccer a few weeks ago and they were playing on a field with snow patches on it and the boys were wearing sweats with coats.

Carter has also started machine pitch baseball and Matt is coaching his team. They have their first game later this week. We were worried if Carter could even hit a ball pitched to him. He surprised us! We moved him up from tee ball because he wanted to play real baseball. So, he is the youngest on his team as he is playing with 7-8 year olds. He is doing great and he will only get better if he truly likes it!

We also got to visit Lagoon. Carter was excited because he is now tall enough to go on the bigger rides. Carter and Matt on the Bat ride at Lagoon.

Downata Hot Springs

On Saturday we headed up to Downata Hot Springs in Idaho with some friends (It was only 1hr 40min away from our house). It was a little chilly so we stayed in the 100 degree pool most of the time. They had a egg hunt in the water. You are probably thinking how...well the eggs had holes in them and they sunk to bottom and the kids had to go under the water and then take the egg up to the desk for a prize. The kids loved swimming again. Then we headed to the cabin and played games and had another Easter Egg hunt with our friends. (I love the picture above of Ashlynn looking out the cabin window while the Eggs were being hidden). I thought it was funny how Carter wanted to make sure that there would not be any bees at the pool. We told him that it is a little too cold for bees. Well, apparently it wasn't, the pool was swarming with them. There were a few victims of the bees, it was like they were dropping out of the sky. We still had a lot of fun and had a great Easter weekend.

Family Easter Festivities

Here are a few pictures of our family Easter time. The kids started out the weekend at a Egg hunt at Dick's Market and then we headed out to a hot springs in Downey, Idaho, (those pictures to come). On Sunday, the Easter bunny visited with the kids Easter baskets, went to church, colored eggs and then had Easter dinner at our house. The kids and I made the Easter bunny cake. We had fun decorating it and it tasted very yummy!

Spring Break!

Here is a little of the excitement the kids had during their Spring Break from school. The pictures above are from a indoor amusement park. It was a great place to be during bad weather days. Carter was convinced that since his class had their end of the year program that he was starting 1st grade when the school break was over. After a week of trying to occupy little kids, I am relived they started back to school. I have to admit that I am liking the old routine back.

Kindergarten Program

Carter's class had their Kindergarten program this week. His class sang their favorite songs for the audience. It was so cute! The kids have spring break this week, so they thought it was the end of the school year. The teacher also made a video of the students of what they have done this year. So fun! Happy April Fools Day/Birthday Carter!

Carter had his special day on Wednesday. He was so excited that his 6th birthday finally came. We had such a fun day for him. Carter started out the day with school and handed out treats to his class. Then, we headed to the the Fun Center in Layton with his friends. They got to play lazer tag, skate and play on indoor play lands. We finished the day with a family party on our house. Since his birthday is on April Fool's Day Matt and I have made a tradition to play a little trick on him. This year we made him a special cake that was stuffed with Pop Rock Candies (the candies that snap and pop in your mouth). Well, it didn't turn out as planned. The candies didn't have any pop left in them and so it just flavored the cake and it tasted gross. He took a few bites of the cake and didn't care about finishing it. So, the year slipped by without any tricks. Oh well, we have next year to come up with something even better. Any ideas?

Family Time at Temple Sqaure

Our family ventured out to the Church History Museum and enjoyed a tour of the Beehive House this past weekend. It was interesting to hear the little stories of Brigham Young and his family and all that he did in the Salt Lake Valley. The kids enjoyed walking through his old house. Then, we took a look at temple square on top of the Joseph Smith Building. I have never seen the the view without Christmas lights and lots of people around. Still a gorgeous site to see. Check out those high water pants! Ashlynn is growing so fast I can't keep up with her clothes. She has worn the same clothes for a while and then all of sudden she has skipped two sizes and now wearing regular girls sizes. No more shopping in the toddler section for her.
