2013 Tumbling photos

Here are the kid's 2013 Tumbling head shots.  They had such a fun year at Tumble Kats with all the new tricks they learned.  Carter has decided to take a break from tumbling, but Ashlynn has moved up to the junior tumbling class.  She is very excited to work more on her back hand springs and front tucks.

The silly boys in Carter's class did not want their pictures taken so, Carter is solo.  His head shot photo is so adorable though.  We are excited for another fun year at the tumbling gym!!

Scout Camp 2013

Carter had his last camp experience as a Cub Scout at Camp Kiesel.  He is 10 years old and in his last year as a Webelo.  Their Den leader and I chaperoned these boys around camp all day.  Our day started early to beat the heat.  I was actually cold in the morning and needed a jacket.  Our first event was the river boats and I was too cold and did not want to get wet.  So, I opted out on this event and took some fun pictures. It would of felt nice to get splashed later on the day though.  I felt bad for a few of the boaters that got soaked by buckets of water by the camp leaders.
  The boys then had a packed full day of activities and games.  There was only one mishap of witnessed rattlesnakes at camp.  We had to stay together as a group and stay on the path in a single file line with the camp leaders walking around with shovels and making loud noises to scare them away.  It was a little nerve racking to know we were in the snakes territory.  Luckily, no one was hurt and the boys didn't seem to be bothered by it.    

By mid-afternoon we were done and headed home.  I appreciate the scouting program and all the things it teaches the boys.  They learn and participate in fun activities all year long to help them be better men in this world.

4th of July Fun...

After the All Star game we headed over to our saved seats for the parade.
 There were some fun floats!

Then after the parade we headed to the park to wonder and look at all the booths.  Ashlynn had her face painted and we got a yummy snow cone to cool us off.

Later that evening we hosted a BBQ in our backyard.  It was so fun to have people over to enjoy each others company and we some good laughs. 

 One of our sweet neighbor's daughter made these delicious cupcakes.  She is a talented girl with her gourmet cupcake making skills.

 Then it was firework time.  Let the show begin!

It was a fun filled day to celebrate USA's birthday! 

We are the Champions!!

That is right...We are finally the Champions!  Carter has always came in close but never claimed the title of Champion.  He was selected to play on one of the All-Star baseball teams along with two other of his teammates from the Mets team.

Here is our team representing the East side of town.  We look like a fun bunch of kids! 

We had to play a semifinal game against the other East Layton team to see who would play against the West Layton team.  And you guessed it WE WON!  Yay!!  The boys worked so hard for this win that they deserved every moment of celebration.  This is the team piling up on home plate after the victory.  Carter is hanging out on top of the pile.

So here we are bright and chipper the next morning on the 4th of July to play against the top West team.  This is a picture of them as their names were being announced.  So, it was the East against the West!  And...guess what?  We WON again..Wahoo!  It was a close game in the last inning.. the West team caught up within one run, but fell short.  So the ending score was 18-17. It was a awesome way to start the 4th of July Holiday!

Most of these boys don't know each other because they all go to different schools, but they made a great team. (Carter is in the front with the orange socks.)

I am going to miss hanging out at the ball field.  I love this game!
Carter made huge improvements from last year.  He was definitely an all star player.  He found that his favorite position is second base and made some awesome outs through out the year. 

Girls Weekend

The boys headed to cabin on Wednesday and Ashlynn and I drove to Idaho to spent with family and friends.  We all returned home on Sunday.  We started out the week with our sweet cousin/niece that stayed with us while her mom (aunt Laura) went to St. George.  The girls had so much fun together.  We spent two days at Lagoon and got pedicures before we headed to Idaho.

Then we visited with more people in Idaho, saw Monster's University movie and swam in Grandma Frankie's pool.

We loved seeing so many people during our time in Idaho.  I was able to catch up with a few friends I have not seen a while and enjoy our visits with Laura and the girls.
