Easter Excitement

Our neighborhood puts on a annual Egg hunt for all to attend. Each family donates to the hunt and the extravaganza is located in about 3 yards combined, separated in age groups. The kids loved being there with their friends. We are so blessed to live in such a great area that does these kinds of fun things.

We had a wonderful time celebrating the Easter Holiday. We had a yummy ham dinner with Tracy and Craig's Family. We are truly grateful to have some of our family close by to celebrate this special holiday.

Carter's Baptism

This is Carter's signature move. He is such a character!


Carter celebrated is birthday and then the next weekend was his baptism. He loved all the extra attention for two weeks celebrating both big days.

Carter chose the program schedule and it included:
Sam: Opening Prayer
Trey: Talk on Baptism
Annie sang while Gail played the piano
Tom: Talk on Holy Ghost
Confirmed by: Dad (Matt)
Closing prayer: Ashlynn
We then had tacos and brownies at our house for family and friends. It was a great day!

Diving for Eggs

The kids took part in our local swimming pool's Egg dive. Carter was there for a friend's birthday party and Ashlynn joined in on the fun too. The kids had a great time finding eggs in the water.

Something new...

Ashlynn wanted to try out something new...Gymnastics. We are going to trial this for the summer while she is off from dancing. She is still dancing and preparing for their end of the year concert this June.

She is really enjoying the new things she is learning from gymnastics. She had tumbling while she was in preschool last year and she couldn't stop talking about how much she missed the tumbling part of it. So, we will give it a try. They really work these girls to a sweat and she is worn out after the hour. I guess it is good exercise. I get tired just watching her.

Kitchen makover - Round one

We have been busy with our kitchen. We have done all the work except for the install of the granite countertops. We pulled out the old countertops, built the island extension, added an electrical outlet, put up bead board around the island and painted the bead board with a stressed look for texture. We also put in an under mount sink with a new faucet. I love the new look!

We are now in the final stages of finishing the back splash, more painting and adding new light fixtures. I will post the final pictures soon.

April Fool's Day

What fun day!

The kids had 'Bend the rules Day' at school on April fool's day. They got to choose from a list of rules to break and it costed them $1.00 for each rule they wanted to bend.

Carter's Choices Were:

Be the principal of the school for 5 mintes - Which costed $5.00

(perform one job of the principal and got his picture taken at her desk)

Wear Crazy hair

Chew Gum

Ashlynn's Choices Were:

Wear Pajamas

Crazy Hair

Chew Gum

Scream in the Gym

Extra 5 minutes of recess

What a neat idea to raise money for the school. They kids had a blast breaking the rules for the day.

Carter's 8th Birthday!

Another year has gone by that our sweet Carter has gotten a year older. He has turned into such a sweet young boy and we are excited for the life he has ahead of him. We all had a fun day celebrating his birthday.
